To make account adjustments, you may need to unlink a transaction. Once unlinked, the payment, refund, or credit can be reapplied to the account.
Unlink a Transaction
Method One: From the Billing Activities Page
- Click on Billing (top left navigation).
- Click on the Transactions tab (on the left).
- Click on the Transaction (for example, TRN-3).
- Click on the Unlink Button.
- Click Yes, Unlink.
Method Two: From the Patient Profile Page
- Click on the Patient's name.
- Click on the Billing tab.
- Click on the Transactions header.
- Click on the Transaction (for example, TRN-10003).
- Click on the Unlink Button near the bottom of the page.
- Click Yes, Unlink.
Method Three: From an Appointment
- Click on an Appointment from the calendar.
- Click on the Invoice (for example, INV-3).
- Click on the Transaction (for example, TRN-10003).
- Click on the Unlink Button near the bottom of the page.
- Click Yes, Unlink.
Important Note: Unlinking a transaction will move a payment into an account credit. If you have unlinked a transaction and want to apply it as a credit towards another invoice, further actions may be required within the system.
