Create an Insurance-Friendly Package that allows patients to receive an invoice suitable for submission to their insurance company for reimbursement. This package will demonstrate that the patient has paid a portion of the invoice.
Create an Insurance-Friendly Package
Follow these steps to create a template and process payments:
Step One: Create the Insurance-Friendly Package Template
- Log in as the Admin.
- Click the Gear icon in the top right header.
- Click on Templates.
- Scroll to the Packages & Membership section.
- Click Add New.
- Select Package.
- In the Price field, enter $0.00.
- Fill in the Tax, Expiry, and Booking per package.
- Add your Service and Patient Portion.
- Click Save.
Important Note: The Patient Portion represents the discount value for purchasing the package. For instance, if the regular price for treatment is $60.00 and the package is for 10 treatments, the patient pays portion would be $50.00 (with a $10.00 discount).
Step Two: Accept Payment for the Package
Since the package value is $0.00, you need to add a payment to the patient’s account to move funds into credit and pay for the package using the credit.
- Click on the Patient's Name.
- Click on Billing in the Sidebar.
- Click on Add Payment.
- Uncheck any outstanding invoices.
- Step through the Payment Process, which adds the package cost to the credit.
- Add a Note indicating the payment is for purchasing a package.
Step Three: Add the Insurance-Friendly Package
- Click on the Patient's Name.
- Click on Packages & Memberships in the Sidebar.
- Select the appropriate Package.
- Click Purchase.
Step Four: Redeem an Insurance-Friendly Package
- Create an Invoice.
- Add the appropriate Service to be redeemed with this package.
- Click Redeem.
- Select the Package.
- Click Redeem.
- Click Pay.
- Click Add a Payment Method.
- Click Apply Credit.
- Click Pay.
