Manage clinical note templates efficiently using Noterro to streamline your documentation and ensure consistency across patient encounters. Discover how to add, edit, disable, delete, and preview clinical note templates.
Adding Clinical Note Templates
Add new clinical note templates to standardize documentation. Search for specific templates using the Templates search bar or browse the pre-made options. Previewing a template is available before use, and you can search for templates you created using "created by me."
- Log in as the Admin.
- Click on the Gear Icon (top right header).
- Select Templates.
- Scroll to the Clinical Notes section.
- Click Add New.
- Select a Noterro Template, a template you've added, or start with a Blank Note Template.
- For Blank Templates, name your Clinical Note before starting.
- Use the Form editor to create your custom note template. Changes auto-save.
Important Note: To remove diagrams, delete the SOAP section. Practitioners can set a default template in their Charting settings if multiple templates are used.
Editing Clinical Note Templates
To update a clinical note template, duplicate the template first to make changes.
- Log in as the Admin.
- Click on the Gear Icon (top right header).
- Select Templates.
- Scroll to the Clinical Notes section.
- Locate the desired template and click the Three Dots.
- Select Duplicate.
- Update the name and close the Settings.
- Edit the Clinical Note Template.
Important Note: Once a template is added to a Patient, it becomes "In Use" and many sections can't be changed. Duplicate it and disable the original to make edits.
Disabling Clinical Note Templates
When you need a temporary removal, disable your clinical note template.
- Log in as the Admin.
- Click on the Gear Icon (top right header).
- Select Templates.
- Scroll to the Clinical Notes section.
- Locate the template and click the Three Dots.
- Select Disable.
Enabling Clinical Note Templates
Re-enable previously disabled templates when needed.
- Log in as the Admin.
- Click on the Gear Icon (top right header).
- Select Templates.
- Scroll to the Clinical Notes section.
- Click Show Disabled Clinical Notes.
- Locate the template and click the Three Dots.
- Select Enable.
Deleting Clinical Note Templates
Delete a clinical note template with caution as it permanently removes it from your library.
- Log in as the Admin.
- Click on the Gear Icon (top right header).
- Select Templates.
- Scroll to the Clinical Notes section.
- Locate the template and click the Three Dots.
- Select Delete.
- In the prompt, click Yes, Delete to confirm.
Important Note: Deleting removes the template permanently. Only non-"In Use" templates can be deleted. Consider disabling if necessary. Inform your team for a smooth transition.
Previewing Clinical Note Templates
Preview a clinical note template before using it to ensure it meets your needs.
- Log in as the Admin.
- Click on the Gear Icon (top right header).
- Select Templates.
- Scroll to the Clinical Notes section.
- Select Add New.
- Locate the template you want and select Preview.
Important Note: Only the Administrator can manage Clinical Note Templates. Practitioners can set default templates in their personal charting settings.
