Adding a Cancellation Fee to an Invoice

If a patient misses an appointment or cancels late, you might want to add a cancellation fee to their invoice. To do this, create the fee as a product in the Base Setup settings. Once you've set it up, you'll easily apply it to an invoice.

Creating a Cancellation Fee

1. Log in as Admin.
2. Click on the Gear Icon (top right header).
3. Click Base Setup.
4. Click on Products in the sidebar.
5. Click on Add New.
6. Type in your category name (e.g. Fees), and click Create.
7. Fill in your Fee Name, Description, and Price (add your most common price).
8. Select Save. 

Important Note: Now that your cancellation fee has been added, you're ready to effortlessly apply it to an invoice.

Adding the Cancellation Fee to an Invoice

1. Click on the Invoice.
2. Click on Edit.
3. Change the Service price to zero (you will want to keep the original service for reference).
4. Click in the Box that displays (Add a Product or Service).
5. Select the Cancellation Fee you added.
6. Change the Price if applicable.
7. Add Tax if applicable.
8. Click Finish.
