Connecting your Square Account to Noterro
Follow these steps if you would like to process Square payments within Noterro using the Square Reader, Square Stand or keyed-in credit cards, including online booking payments.
- Log in as an Admin.
- Click on the Gear icon (top right header).
- Click on Billing.
- Scroll to the Square section.
- Click Connect Square.
- You will be prompted to log in to your Square account.
- Agree to Square permissions.
- In Noterro, you must select a location if you have more than one in Square.
- Android Only: If you use the Square Reader, you must disable default taxes in your Square account. Otherwise, taxes will be double-charged on Square Reader transactions initiated from Android devices.
Important Note: Once you connect your Noterro account to your Square account, you can immediately use your Square Reader, Square Stand or keyed-in credit card payments.
Disconnecting your Square Account from Noterro
- Log in as an Admin.
- Click on the Gear icon (top right header).
- Click on Billing.
- Scroll to the Square section.
- Scroll to Payment Processing.
- Click Disconnect Square.
Setting Up the Square Terminal
The Square Terminal can be used as a standalone unit or integrated with Noterro. Setting it up involves configuring your Noterro account and your Square Terminal.
Generating a Device Code within Noterro
- Setup your Square Terminal if you haven't already.
- Log in as an Admin.
- Click on the Gear icon (top right header).
- Click on Billing.
- Scroll to the Square section.
- In the Link Terminal section, click Add New.
- Click Generate Device Code.
- Note the Device Code.
- Follow the steps below to Pair your Square Terminal.
Pairing your Square Terminal
By connecting Square Payment Processing to your Noterro account, you can offer clients a convenient and secure way to process payments. Square's robust features and user-friendly interface make it an ideal choice for businesses of all sizes. You will need to log into your Square Terminal using your device code.

- Log out of your Square Terminal by following these steps:
- Drag the slide-out menu on the left side of the screen terminal.
- Click Settings.
- Click Account.
- Click Sign out.
- Click Sign In.
- Click Use Device Code (do not use your email/password).
- Enter the Device Code from Noterro.
- After Successfully Pairing your terminal to your Noterro account, the terminal will display "Powered by Square." You're now ready to process payments triggered from Noterro.
- Log out of your Square Terminal by following these steps:
Important Note: You can repeat this process to pair more Square Terminals from the same Square account to your Noterro account.

Disconnecting your Square Terminal from Noterro
You must log into your Square account to deactivate your Square terminal from your Noterro account.
- Log into your Square account.
- Click on Settings in the bottom left sidebar.
- Click on Account Settings.
- Click on Business Information.
- Click on Devices.
- Click on the Three Dots for the terminal you want to deactivate.
- Click on Deactivate.

Important Note: The Square chip reader does not directly connect to Noterro. The Square chip reader only pairs with the Square Point of Sale app, which can be used for processing in-person payment outside of Noterro.
