Easily check when notifications such as emails, SMS, or phone alerts were sent to a patient using our streamlined interface. Here's how you can access a patient's notification logs and understand email statuses to ensure effective communication.
Check Patient Notification Logs
Follow these steps to access and review patient notification logs.
- Log in as the Admin or Practitioner.
- Click Patients in the main navigation.
- Click on the patient's name.
- From the patient's profile, click on Notifications Logs in the sidebar.
Important Note: The logs are based on communications from the past 12 months.
Meaning of Email Statuses
- Sent: The email was sent but is pending receipt confirmation from the receiving email provider.
- Delivered: The receiving email provider acknowledges the receipt of the email.
- Bounced: The email could not be delivered. This might be:
- Permanent bounce-back: the email address does not exist.
- Temporary bounce-back: the email account is currently full.
- Complaint: The recipient reported past emails as spam or clicked "unsubscribe." The email address is placed on Noterro's suppression list, and you'll need to contact us to remove it.

It would be helpful to have instances of bounced-back emails or undelivered SMS appear in the notifications area - so we know if a communication has failed. Typically the only way this is discovered is if the client notifies us that they're not receiving communications.
