If you're receiving a 314 error from Shift4 (formerly Worldline/Bambora), this is because the Patient (referred to as a Payment Profile in Shift4) and their credit card are missing the Patient's name. This is not something that can be corrected in Noterro directly. Follow these steps to resolve this issue.
Update Payment Profiles to Include Billing Names
Ensure all Payment Profiles in Shift4 have the Patient's name included.
- Log in to Shift4.
- Click Processing.
- Click Payment Profiles.
- A list of Payment Profiles is displayed; identify which Payment Profiles are missing a Billing Name.
- Copy the list of Customer Codes that don't have a Billing Name.
- Send the Customer Codes to support@noterro.com. We will return a list of Patient names associated with each Customer Code.
- For each Payment Profile, update the Billing Name and the Name on each credit card listed in the Payment Profile.
- Once you complete these steps, you can continue processing the cards in Noterro as expected.
Important Note: This error occurred when Patients adding a credit card through the Portal wasn't saving the Patient's name in Shift4 unless the option in Shift4 was explicitly selected. The root issue has since been resolved, but there may still be Shift4 Payment Profiles missing the Patient's name.
