British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and parts of northwestern Ontario are moving to permanent daylight time. On November 1, 2026, clocks in these areas will not fall back an hour.
Noterro has updated your account so that your appointments remain at the times you booked. Most clinics don't need to do anything.
What changed
In British Columbia, clocks will stay on Pacific daylight time (UTC−7) year-round. Noterro completed this update in August 2026.
In Alberta, clocks will stay on Mountain daylight time (UTC−6) year-round. Noterro completed this update in August 2026.
In Manitoba and parts of northwestern Ontario that use Central time, such as Kenora, clocks will stay on Central daylight time (UTC−5) year-round. Noterro will complete this update this week, before November 1.
Noterro made two updates for clinics in these areas. First, we updated the time zone rules so your calendar, online booking, reminders and reports reflect the new rules. Second, we adjusted appointments, availability, breaks and classes booked for November 1, 2026, or later so they still show at the same local time. For example, a 10:00 AM appointment in December will still show at 10:00 AM.
Your clinic's time zone setting remains unchanged. Past appointments and summer dates were not changed.
Do I need to do anything?
Most clinics don't need to take any action. If your clinic is in British Columbia, Alberta, or Manitoba and its time zone is set to the province's time zone, your appointments are already correct or will be updated before November 1.
If your clinic is in northwestern Ontario on Central time, such as Kenora, no action is needed as long as your time zone is set to Central time (Winnipeg). Your appointments will be correct before November 1.
If your clinic is anywhere else in Canada, no action is needed. Your clocks will change on November 1 as usual.
Check your time zone. Go to your clinic settings and confirm that the time zone matches your clinic's location. If it doesn't, contact Support before November 1. Only Administrators can request a time zone change. See Managing Time Zones: https://support.noterro.com/hc/en-us/articles/37954442104596-Managing-Time-Zones.
Possible issues and how to fix them
A patient's calendar shows a November-or-later appointment one hour late. Calendar invites are emailed when an appointment is booked. Invites sent before our update still have the old time. Delete the appointment in Noterro and add it again at the same time to email the patient a new invite. Ask the patient to delete the old entry from their calendar. The time in Noterro was already correct.
An appointment in your Google Calendar is one hour off. Noterro adjusted appointments directly, so the change wasn't sent to Google Calendar. Trust the time in Noterro. Open the appointment in Noterro and save it; any changes you make are sent to Google Calendar. If many appointments are affected, contact Support.
Every appointment is one hour off all year. Your clinic's time zone setting may not match your location. Contact Support to correct it. Don't move appointments by hand first; we can adjust them for you.
If an appointment you booked looks wrong, check it in Noterro first. Noterro is the source of truth; outside calendars may take longer to catch up. For general time zone mismatches, see Incorrect Appointment Times Appearing in Patient Calendars: https://support.noterro.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002370346-Incorrect-Appointment-Times-Appearing-in-Patient-Calendars.
Frequently asked questions
Will my appointment reminders go out at the right time? Yes. Reminders use the updated appointment times.
Can patients still book online? Yes. Your availability was updated as well, so online booking now shows the correct open times.
Do I need to change my clinic's time zone? No, as long as your clinic is set to the correct time zone.
What about appointments I book now for this winter? They'll be saved with the new rules and show at the time you booked.
What if another province changes its clock rules? We track official time zone updates and will make the same change for any province that moves to permanent time.
