Hi there--so I've been using SquareUp for several years now independent of SOAPVault.  I have a locked in promotional rate with them--is that able to follow if I choose to integrate?  I'd also like to know more about why to click the "disable taxes?"  I'm having trouble deciding if it's worth it to change my currently working system in order to integrate.  I also have product sales to contend with.....Thanks!

Robyn, your rates don't change as a result of connecting to SOAP Vault.  You're just connecting your existing Square account to your SOAP Vault account.

With regard to taxes, ideally, you would specify the tax amount on the SOAP Vault invoice (eg: $100 + 10% tax = $110).  In this case, we would request a payment of $110 to Square.  On Android only, Square would then add any taxes set up in your account to this amount, causing an overcharge.  This issue does not exist on iOS.  We hope that eventually, Square will allow its Android integration to allow overriding of default taxes.

Hello there, I am using the square terminal and it is still processing as normal on its own. I do have the square account linked to SoapVault but it is not processing any invoices. I am still doing it manually! Am I missing something or the terminal won't work?

Youssef, the Square Terminal isn't part of the initial release.  Just the iOS/Android hardware.  We're working on integrating the Square Terminal in an upcoming update.

Thank you Ryan. Just curious if there is a projected date for that phase of integration?

Not yet, we'll release those details as we get closer.  Targeting this year though.

Do I have to continue to use Bambora after I have connected my square account?  I'd rather have a single payment processor if possible.

You can use Bambora and Square individually or in combination.  Currently, only Bambora transactions (credit card holding, deposits, and pre-payment) can be processed during the patient's online booking experience. So if you use that, you'll want to keep Bambora.

Is there a comparison of integration features between bambora and square?  I am trying to discern which service integration will work best for my business.  I currently use stripe with my current booking software, but I am trying consolidate all the services I am using (ideally into one service - soap vault).

Specifically, I am looking for billing outstanding invoices via email where the client pays (e.g. from their own computer at home), but what are all the other features of integration?

Lance, there is not on the website (yet), but here is one:

Thanks for the comparison Ryan.  A point of clarity:  with the save credit card to patient's file feature, is it possible to get the swipe rate with payment from this stored credit card information?

Lance, no the swipe rate is only at the time of swipe.  This is something controlled by Square, not something we can control.

ok, last question.  Is there a mechanism to invoice someone with a link to pay online at their own convenience (e.g. from home without interaction from business).

Not yet, but this is coming in a few months.

With Bambora or Square or both?

Bambora definitely, Square possibly depending on timelines of further Square development.

I've used Square Invoicing--albeit separate from SoapVault.  It is top notch and the easiest invoicing system I've ever used, highly recommend.

Hi Ryan, I have a quick question, regarding the comparison chart you showed in March. I keep seeing that it's 2.6% + 10c when it's integrated into a booking software, but on the square website, they state differently. Was there a change, or does Soap Vault charge a $0.10 fee per credit card transaction?

Hi Jessica, although Square did change their prices in September 2019, it is my understanding that US customers pay the additional 10 cent fee, but Canadian customers do not.  That being said although SOAP Vault's language may mention the 10 cent fee, if you're a Canadian merchant, you may not be charged that fee from Square.  To be clear though, SOAP Vault does not charge a fee at all in the entire process for Square.  Any fees would be Square's fees, and it would be best and most reliable to inquire about Square's fees with them directly.

Thank you for clarifying! I appreciate it.

Hi I have been doing research on square and they have a lot of bad reviews from consumers. There are many reports of them deactivating accounts, keeping peoples money and making it very hard to contact them to get it back. Especially since the corona virus.

I am wanting to get an easy payment method a square ticks all the boxes but after reading all of the bad reviews I have second thoughts. I only found out about square through soapvaut.

I want to know if soapvault thinks they are reliable, safe, honest and stands by them?
Because by offering square intergration with soapvaut you are implying that they are.

If all of these reviews are true then it will not be the best intergration to use.

    Dean,

We listen to what our customers want, and Square is highly requested. Our experience with Square has been quite positive. We only integrate with partners that improve the experience of the product and how our customers operate their clinic.

We also integrate with another payment processor, Bambora.  Their rates are comparable to Square.

    Thanks
